The Story of a European Football Giant
Founded on February 27, 1900, by eleven young football enthusiasts, Fußball-Club Bayern München e. V. has evolved over the decades into Germany’s most successful and famous football team. The first major triumph came in 1932 with the victory of the German championship, but that was just the beginning of a long streak of successes.
After World War II, the club regained momentum, and in 1965, it officially entered the Bundesliga. However, it was in the 1970s that Bayern wrote the most glorious chapters of its history, thanks to the legendary Golden Generation. With champions like Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, and Sepp Maier, the team won three consecutive European Cups (1974, 1975, 1976), establishing itself as a European powerhouse.
National and International Domination
In the 1980s and 1990s, under the leadership of Uli Hoeneß, the club solidified its economic power and influence on the global football scene. Despite some ups and downs, Bayern continued to grow, winning the Champions League in 2001, 2013, and 2020. In those last two years, the club achieved a historic feat: the Treble.
Today, FC Bayern Munich is a global giant with millions of fans worldwide and an impressive trophy cabinet: 33 German Championship titles and 20 German Cup victories. Since 2005, the team has played its home matches at the majestic Allianz Arena, one of the most modern and spectacular stadiums in Europe.
