One of the most important palace/residence complexes in Europe.

A collection of rooms, halls, courtyards, the symbols of the wealth, political ambition and cultural interests of the rulers of Bavaria.

The Imperial Residence was the seat of the Bavarian rulers of the House of Wittelsbach from 1508 until 1918. Over these four centuries it developed into one of the largest and most sophisticated palace complexes in Europe. Since 1920 used as a museum and made accessible to the public, it presents a mixture of eras: Renaissance, Early Baroque, Rococo and Classicism.

Tour highlights: we will visit the most significant rooms of the Residence such as the Cave Hall, the magnificent Antiquarium, a unique Renaissance piece, Court Church, now used as a concert hall, the Green Hall, the Ancestors’ Gallery, with portraits of Bavarian rulers. The apartments of the prince electors and much more. On request, the treasure chamber with its crowns and goldsmith’s art operas, and the Cuvillíes Theater, a Rococo jewel.
